Crappie, Ontario Canada Crappie Fishing, Cottages, Meals, Bear's Den Lodge Resort, Fish Crappies, Wilderness Adventure

Crappie - Crappie fishing is an angler's specialty for palatability and popularity. There are two species of Crappies and only the Black Crappies inhabit the French River Delta and Georgian Bay waterways of lakes, bays, and rivers. White Crappies do not swim or inhabit the waters of the French. Anglers can find Crappies stacked up near dead falls, docks, structure and slower flowing French River and Georgian Bay areas.

Tactics used for walleye, bass, and other pan fish produce dinner plate sized crappies.  If you are specifically angling for these calico fish, look for areas described above and search for " fish stacked like Christmas trees, " Art Barefoot, guide, expert outfitter, and owner of Bear's Den Lodge reports. "Drop a line with a jig and a worm, a couple of slip sinkers, and even a bobber to catch Black Crappies. Crappies tend to be cyclic in nature with its up and down turns in numbers.  Crappies rank with walleye as a more preferred table fare to bass or pike."  Join Bear's Den Lodge resort outfitter for your next Ontario Canada Crappie fishing trip and tips on Black Crappies - Pomoxis nigromaculatus.  More fishing information.
