Chestnut Ridge High School - first season.  This young team of co-ed riflemen are continuously showing improvement at each match.  Chestnut Ridge Rifle Team has one win to its record and inching closer to the 1200 mark at a match.  However, much equipment is needed to assist in their overall competitiveness with veteran schools and competitors.

3-Position Rifle teams are required to take the NRA Basic Rifle Training Course to qualify for the team. Each varsity team shots 3-positions - prone, standing and kneeling at 50 yards while JV competes at prone.  Time limits, equipment, training, skill, safety and much precision to precisely place the .22 shot in "an area not much larger than a 81 mg aspirin tablet," Bear's Den Lodge owner Art Barefoot explains.

Thank you for your support of this young dedicated team of 19 students making their mark in sports.  Bear's Den Lodge has offered the opportunity to the community and the world to donate to their advancement and training.

Chestnut Ridge High School Rifle Team would like to thank the Chestnut Ridge Bow and Gun Club for their support and use of their facilities, along with the NRA, and School District for recognizing this precision Sport.
